Sneha Karati

img 20140417 202424Sneha Karati, a Japanese enthusiast, began her journey of learning language from a mere interest and desire to be able to read and understand Japanese comics(manga) and animation. Already a graduate from Delhi University in B.A. (Hons.) English, currently she is pursuing her second graduation in Japanese language from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University.

"To me language is not just about certain words and phrases you utter as a means of communication; it is an entire lifestyle and comprises of the people and their society and culture".

She has a keen interest in Japanese arts and aesthetics, cuisine, culture, society, history and of course manga. She recently completed her second year of the course(intermediate level) and is suitable for entry level translation. She aspires to reach a level of understanding where she can rely on the knowledge she has acquired over the years with the exposure to the language and its culture and be confident enough to rely less on the tools of translation.

She is a two times silver medal winner in Shankar's International Drawing Competition and was awarded by former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Drawing and sketching, one of her favourite hobby, was also a major driving force for her pursuit of Japanese language. She envisions herself to become a future manga translator.

Apart from sketching, she loves to read and learn new vocabulary and jargon, watch NHK World, TLC and travel and listen to English, Hindi and East-Asian pop-music.

Currently she is working as an intern at Modlingua Learning, Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi. The major areas where she will bbe developing her skills are Content Writing and Citizen Journalism, Project Management and Quality Standards, Business Development and Entrepreneurship.

Jillian Gothelf

1891117 857931560897704 8716781166630044656 nHi, I am Jillian Gothelf and I am from New York, USA. I used to attend Ithaca College where I majored in Television and Radio Broadcasting with a Spanish Minor but last year I transferred to the University of Maryland where I am now a double major with Communications and Spanish. I have been studying the spanish language since the 6th grade and still practice it in hopes to use it in my career path in the future.

After graduating, I plan to continue using my spanish knowledge and language  to either do international law, professional translating, or maybe being part of the Telemundo team, a spanish entertainment company. Being that this is what I want to do, I think having an internship with Modlingua will give me great training and will help me improve my spanish skills.

The four concentrations that I chose were helping build Modlingua’s Youtube channel, Blogging, Social Media Marketing, and content writing and citizen journalism to help me focus on building my strengths in those fields. My hobbies include singing, playing piano, and playing tennis.

I love that this internship can connect me with people all around the world and with the help of the Modlingua team I am looking forward to gain new insights in the translation field.

I am Harneet Kaur. I am a B. Com graduate and I have completed B2 level in French Language from Alliance Française de Delhi. Currently, I am working with a French Bank as Language expert in Finance and Accounts.

I have travelled to Paris for some trainings pertaining to French Accounting Principles as well as International Financial Reporting Standards. It gave me an opportunity to know the French Professional as well as Social culture. The more I explored, the more I wanted to explore it. It was indeed a pleasure working with Europeans.

My hobbies include exploring different cultures, making new friends, listening to music, Meditation (active participant of the Art of Living Programme), driving, numerology, reading books on psychology and body languages etc.

Here at Modlingua, I would like to develop more on my Translation and Interpretation skills. I would like to dwell more and more in this domain with full assertiveness and would like to keep myself well updated. I have chosen Blogging and Content writing as my core competency areas and I would hence like to upgrade my skills more towards this domain other than my Finance knowledge. I hope at the end of this Internship I would definitely be able to find a better and upgraded version of myself with imparted knowledge and guidance of the professionals.
