Hi friends, a very good evening to you all. Today we are going to learn how to log in to modlingua.com, how to create a profile, how to update it, and how to start publishing content. Do subscribe to our channel, Modlingua, on YouTube.
Registering on the Website
To begin, everybody has to create their profile at modlingua.com. If you have not done so, do so immediately. For registration, go to the bottom right part of the website, where you will see user registration. Click on it and you will get an option to register. Let us register an account just for testing purposes.
Once you have filled in this form, click on "Register" at the extreme right. The form is submitted and you get a message: "Your account has been created. A verification link has been sent to the email address that you entered. You must verify the account by selecting the verification link, and then an administrator will activate your account before you can log in." So once you have filled in and submitted the form, you will get a verification link. Click on that link and wait.
Verifying and Activating the Account
From the administrator's side, I log in to the admin section, go to Users, Manage, and look for non-activated members. Those who have not been enabled appear with a red cross mark next to their names.
From the user's side, you will have received an email asking you to click on the link to activate the account. If the link is not hyperlinked, copy it and paste it into the browser to verify. Once verified, you get the message: "Your email address has been verified. Once an administrator approves your account, you will be notified by email and you can log in to the site." The administrator then selects the person and activates the account. Now it is activated, and you can log in.
Logging In
For logging in, look not at the bottom but at the top right of the website. Go to User Login. Be careful to remember your user ID - for this test account it is rktest. Enter your ID and password and log in.
Completing Your Profile
The moment you log in, you see your profile area with basic information about yourself - name, username, registered date and last visited date - and blanks for Address 1, Address 2, city and About Me. Now go to Edit Profile and fill in all these details. Where "optional" is written, you may leave the field as it is, but the initial part - working language pair, university and mobile number - is compulsory. In the second part you have Address 1, Address 2, City, Hostel, Phone, Website and About Me. All the sections not marked optional must be filled in. Once you have filled them in, click Submit. Your profile is now ready, and the first phase of the orientation programme is complete.
