If we observe life and time, we find that each second adds up to become a minute, which further combines up in 60 to become an hour. 24 hours are what make a day and 365 days is what is equivalent to a year. This may seem a bit boring to ponder upon but imagine if think of life as a treasure which is getting lesser and lesser every second every minute no matter how much we try to ignore this fact.
What disappoints us is not this fact but these simple yet frustrating thoughts which are: It’s over, I can’t do this, I have not been made for this, I have lost my chance, and my past is all ruined, etc. Yes, I am talking about negativity. You can term it as ‘depression’ or any other synonym of it. But let’s stop our already confused minds for a minute and think of our ‘already misinterpreted lives’ in this way: You always die, yes. What moments you had, whatever results or realizations you had 24 hours back are no more significant. Even if you achieved a big goal some days back, it is no more relevant now. Why? Because those times are your past now, and you are in this PRESENT MOMENT, reborn, active again and with a new treasure of 24 hours which only you can decide how to utilize or waste. There is a fabulous citation which says that: Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Now, if we interpret this powerful citation we will find that we always have the chance to beat or improve our ‘past’ and that chance is today. Life’s only meaning is hidden in the present and that’s why we call it a present. No matter how bad your day was yesterday or before that, you always have the chance to get up and show yourself you won’t give up today. Unfortunately, we either find ourselves lost in our past or dwelling in the future which is not at all pragmatic.
History has got you thousands of examples. The famous author of ‘Harry Potter series’ J.K Rowling had said that the first part of her series got multiple, repeated rejections from many publishing houses. But this didn’t hinder her perseverance and finally, after lots of rejections, her novel was published and what happened after is history. Thus, seize your day, no matter whatever has happened before in your life, but it all in the trash of past except the precious learning you had and focus on this present treasure of your life, these 24 golden hours.
