SOURCE TEXT:

LITERARY TRANSLATION

In exasperation, the puppet gets heat up

And keeps repeating that

Why she is surrounded by the threads

She pleads to break these threads

As the puppet wants to stand on her feet

After listening, the other similar puppet says

It’s been so long that

They have not introspected themselves

Yet,

The first puppet begins to think

That, why this kind of hopes

Are generating inside me?

Analysis of the poem:

The poem talks about the puppet which actually signifies the women’s life. This poem is a sarcasm towards the society where the women were not given respect and freedom, in the period of the 15-19th century. So, the women here are talking about their freedom and encouraging others for the same.
