"Without translation we would be living in provinces bordering on silence"

Today the world is digitalised, almost everyone is following this trend which in turn is even very helpful, easy to navigate, interactive and constant. The digitalisation in the print and press industries has increased the level of exposure for people especially for emerging writers, creation of website and the social networks not only encourages demand for publishers but also establishes a direct link to customers. The present competitive online world demands good content which plays a major role in taking the websites to the top. A good content easily converts visitors and audience into potential customers, meaning better business. It is nothing but to write about your business, product or service and then sharing it on web, keeping in mind to satisfy the needs of website as well as the customers. Online marketing can be used for various purposes like promoting a brand, product or service, for spreading a current news or message, creating awareness, blogging, etc.

For instance, a manager of a company is going to streamline his business online. For this he hires a content writer to write regarding his product. Content must be simple, clear and to the product or service. After the content is ready the manager then starts marketing his product or service online through different platforms like  social media(Facebook, Snap chat, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, etc.), emails, blogging, search engines(popularly known as search engine optimization SEO), etc. But he is neglecting the main aspect here! What? TRANSLATION. By translating the language of the content, the product will be marketed globally. Understanding the behaviours, values, beliefs of a particular culture and adapting them in marketing efforts are all parts of this process. You need to find a way to connect to your audience on a personal level. Globalization includes internationalization and localization. So for globalizing a product or service the person has to adopt both the techniques through translation. Therefore, a relation arrives between content writing, online marketing and translation in multiple languages. They are all interconnected like a web-chain.

Well, there is a method for online marketing- applying the AIDA model, which helps in effective and efficient marketing.
A-AWARENESS  Create awareness of your brand or website.
I-INTEREST  Developing an interest about your product or service.
D-DESIRE  Stirring a favourable liking to buy a product.
A-ACTION  Moving the visitor into an interaction with your company (through websites, mainly)

Reaching the native people is very crucial for “online” marketing. Correctly quoted by Nelson Mandela-
If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.

My personal participation in language skills-

I always try to make contact with people and personally talk to them so that I can practice my language. I search native people on Facebook and Instagram and chat with them. This helps me in learning vocabulary, understanding the language, culture and people of the particular place I am studying language of. As a result I promote my culture too through chatting or video calling them. Along these lines I have used my language skills in areas like online marketing and content writing.
