Salut! I am Rushali Chanana, currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in French at the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies, Faculty of Arts, Delhi University. I have reached B1 level proficiency in the language and will be graduating next summer. I am also familiar with Portuguese till the A2 level.

 

I have always been a fast learner, diligent, responsible, and never shied away from hard work, rather embraced it. I am working towards creating the best version of myself and willing to do all it takes, with enthusiasm and determination.  This internship at Modlingua will be a major opportunity for me to learn and hone my skills. I am sure this will be a great embellishment for my career. 

 

Getting the opportunity to learn French as a third language in high school fueled my interest in languages. French, is quite a romantic language, attracted me a lot. When deciding my career, the fact that French is one of the most sought after languages in the world and is global, helped me. I believe, every language has some beautiful ideas to offer and this thought inspired me to pursue a career in language.

Language is our method of communication, in all its forms, spoken or written, verbal or non-verbal. The ability to use language is what differentiates us from other species. The power of understanding a language that is not my mother tongue and being fluent in the same excites me.  

For my short term goals, I am presently focused on completing my Bachelor's, after which I wish to try out my hand in the various fields where the language is prominent. I wish to gain experience in translation at the embassy, or MNCs. Next, being fond of teaching, I would love to be able to help others learn French. For my long term goals, as of now, I can see myself completing my Master's and then visualize myself as a professor of the French language, but I can sure about this only after having played ball in the various possible fields, I believe that being in the field will help me better understand my specific area of interest and move forward with my career.

This internship will be a major stepping stone in my career and I am ready to make the best of it.
