BRIEF PROFILE
I am Ankit Rawat from Delhi. Currently, I am pursuing my bachelor’s degree in French (2nd year), from the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies, Arts Faculty, University of Delhi. I never studied french until class 12th. But, I always wanted to learn a new language. So, I am here learning french. And from the day I started learning french my interest in this language increased enormously. I also know Portuguese at the basic level which is an elective language in the university. Being a student of computer science in class 11th and 12th, I also know the basics of C++ programming language. I was a science student in school, so the technical thing attracts me a lot. I am very passionate about photography and I love capturing moments. I am a person who believes in teamwork and who is self-motivated. Being a language student, I am thinking of writing something which will help me to improve my skills. My hobbies are listening to music and playing sports.
CAREER GOALS
As a child, at some point in time, most of us wanted to become an engineer, a doctor, etc. The same was the case with me. I wanted to become a software engineer, that’s why I opted for the science stream after completing my 10th. But somewhere in between, I lost my interest in engineering. But later I realized, I never wanted to become an engineer, it is more like everyone is doing so I will also do. So, after completing my 12th, I chose to do a bachelor’s in French. The reason for learning a new language is that learning language removes all the barriers of communication and connects people. From the day I started learning French, I want to be a translator and explore the world. Now I am very passionate about learning french. Every day it is a completely new experience learning french, learn about a country whose culture is totally different from your country.
My short term goal is to complete my bachelor’s degree in French and then pursue masters in the same. It would help me to achieve my long-term goal, which is to be a translator. I think a translator helps in removing the barriers of communication around the world and I want to be a part of that.
Working with an organization like Modlingua will help me to get one step closer to my goal. It will also help me to learn and gain experience about how the professional world works.
