Brief Profile:
My name is Bhawana Pandey. I am from Dehradun, Uttarakhand currently pursuing my first year of under graduation from Central University of Jharkhand(CUJ). It wasn’t that from my childhood that I had an immense passion for learning a foreign language. When I was a child, I had never liked to travel to different places. Everything started when I was on a vacation with my family I remember it clear we were staying in a small village of Uttarakhand, their culture, lifestyle, language, and everything about this new place was fascinating for me. It was a turning point in my life. After that vacation, I started getting interested in learning about different languages and their culture. Upon learning about different countries I stumbled upon "South Korea" and I instantly knew that I wanted to learn the Korean language and their culture, after giving my 12th Boards exams I decided to study the Korean language as my under-graduation major. Last month I attended a Korean Camp hosted by “ONNURI HAPPYSEED ASSOCIATION”. I have also completed the First step Korean course at Yonsei University. Aside from my academic pursuits I also like to study economics and business and have completed Introduction to Microeconomics by Seoul National University. I like to study economics and business as I think it a very important to know about them.
Career Goal:
I always have been curious about other places, how people are living there, and mainly how these countries are different from my country. The most interesting thing is learning a new language and learning their culture. I think we just can’t separate both their language and culture. I was a science student (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) student when I was in 12th. It was not easy to find that one thing I really wanted to do Because I was always curious about almost everything and wanted to try everything but it was realistic at all. Then I started learning Korean by myself and it was quite interesting so I decided to pursue the Korean language. Currently, I am in the 1st year (2nd semester) of BA Korean at the Central University of Jharkhand and I am doing my best and really enjoying it. I am really into Korean history. I want to work in international companies after my graduation and also want to explore different countries. I am also interested in economics and business so I am trying to learn them as well with the Korean Language. I also want to work as a translator. This field is full of challenges, and what matters the most in this arena, is the practical experience and how you deal with the challenges. I am looking forward to using this opportunity provided by Modlingua to improve my language skills and get a broader look at this field.
