Antonio Orta
Hey there! I am Antonio Orta. I’m a lawyer from Venezuela and I’m also engaged in general and legal translations. I recently graduated from Laws school at the Valle del Momboy’s University in Valera. I always loved the different languages of the world, but English has always brought my main attention towards it. Each nation has their own laws and rules, and I believe that I can help and build a bridge between two different nations.
Translating contracts, certificates and many things alike are my main passion and because of that, I have come to Modlingua in the search for knowledge and the necessary experience to expand myself professionally. My own marketing, branding, project management and many more is what I so desire to learn!
Career Goals
Some people say that the eyes are the gates to the soul, and the Language, to me, is the gate to the culture. Each nation has its own culture, values and rules, and the convergence point of all that is the language. How we speak, how we understand the message and how do we reply is a complete process that is worthy of study and appreciation. Since the beginning, we people did not understand each other they would find another way to do so and thus be born the translation process.
Since I was a child, I approached my own language in a shy way and with a funny point of view, but when I began to understand another language than my own, it all started to become more serious. “If old people can speak something different… so can I!”, that was the beginning of my bilingual journey. When I was a young boy and I began to take English classes, they were not only teaching us new words, but also a new culture behind them. I started to understand that it was not something easy nor impossible, it was rather an achievement, a life goal to me, something that I still pursue so dearly. When I reached my university, speaking in English was something I loved to do with other friends and my teachers. It was not until I was almost finishing my Laws career when I joined my university’s Model of United Nations that I realized how English could professionally improve my life.
That’s how I started my career as a fresh translator, it was hard as any other profession might be at the beginning. How could I translate words and give them a natural meaning? It was complicated and until today is still a challenge to face each day. But the rejoice that I get when I’m able to build a new connection between those two languages, is unmeasurable, still, it always comes to my mind that I’m so young and so inexperienced that I need some help to manage my projects and clients properly.
That’s why I’ve come to Modlingua, as I know that they will help me solve that issue. Because I know that with their company I will be able to acquire the so needed knowledge, skills, and experience that I need so that I can truly work as a bridge between two cultures and two different languages that are so abundant and widely spoken on the world. I wish for them to help me grow not only professionally but spiritually as well, after all. Do you that on the movie Monster Inc. each door represented an access to a new world? Although our mission is not to scare, we still are a door to a new language and thus, it’s our objective to improve ourselves as much as we can, every day, as Translators, as foreign communication doors, and as emissaries of the world’s languages!
