The last 15 days at Modlingua have been crazzyyyyy!!!!! It’s been an amazing journey so far. I’ve learnt so many things.
Our first webinar was about ‘’Ants and translators”. At first even I thought ‘’Ants? What do ants have to do with translators?’’. When it comes to being a translator, everyone knows that one needs to be good at the language and have strong reading, writing and speaking skills. But that is not it. Networking is the foremost thing. Ants follow the transmission/traffic control protocol (TCP). They determine how many foragers to send out of the nest in much the same way that Internet protocols discover how much bandwidth is available for the transfer of data. The researchers are calling it the ‘’Anternet”. The five things that humans should adapt from ants are: Initiative, Integrity, Industrious, Clear Vision and Purpose. These are the key to broaden ones network. A well built and expansive network gives you insight into trends and helps you become more visible to others and a successful Translator.
Our second webinar was about ‘’Wolf Pack, Leadership and Translator”. So when I heard about this theme I was pretty sure that it will turn out just as amazing and informative as Ants and translators did, and I was right. The theme was explained with a picture of wolves. Where a chain of wolves were going somewhere and they all were following the leader (wolf). That wolf must be the leader since he must have had a lot of experience. Which tells us, that leaders are experienced people and the goal of a community is not to create an unvaried group of people who all envision and perform alike, it is to create a heterogeneous, invigorating, immersed group of people who are committed to solving problems together. The experience and direction of the leader are important to balance a team.
The third webinar was about “Learning a foreign language quickly”. The main points were: Engage (listen to songs, watch movies etc.), Communicate( it’s practical), Perseverance (Never stop learning) and Consistency (Always be in touch with the language).
In the fourth webinar we learnt about “Content writing”. We all know content is the game changer in today’s world. On every platform content plays the main role. It’s much more than digital marketing and content optimization. It requires planning, writing, editing. It elevates brands, seen as currency and good content is always shared.
Coming to the last webinar, which was about “Public speaking and leadership”. I think many people become nervous when it comes to speaking publicly (even me myself). This is faced by majority of people. The webinar talks about how one can tackle that problem. And it goes without saying that if you want to become a good leader, you must be an excellent communicator.
I am really looking forward to more such informative videos on Modlingua. This internship has so far been like a blessing to me. Thank you Ravi sir for making me a part of it.
