UNSUNG HERO OF INDIAN HISTORY

I have a keen interest in Indian history and culture and so when MANGAL PANDEY a flop movie was in news, I can say that I was into Magal Pandey's life....I searched, I investigated and I read the whole theory about it. Then lagaan came , then Tanhaji . Now I am currently working on SAM MANEKSHAW. 

Sam manekshaw was  the Chief of the army staff of indian army during indo- pakistan war of 1971 and also he was the first indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of field marshal. In my view no military general has ever captured the national imagination in the way Sam manekshaw did. He knew that he and his army wasn't ready to fight that battle and he bluntly said to prime minister INDIRA GANDHI that Indian army wasn't ready for war in april 1971.

His words were " my job is to was to fight to win " and he made a request which was accepted and when the battle was fought in december 1971 , Manekshaw delivered India one of its swifest and most remarkable military victories.
