Modlingua is one of the finest platforms of interpretation, translation, and language placement services. It is termed as India’s best which itself speaks for its popularity and fame. It is a name in the language industry itself.
My introduction to this amazing platform happened when I filled the summer internship form 2021 there. At that point in time, I was completely oblivious of the knowledge that was going to come just by filling a form. To be honest, I never thought that my application would be accepted in the first place but to my amazement, it got accepted and a mail was forwarded to me by Modlingua’s official website. I was glad to see that email in the first place because this was going to be an important internship for me not because it was my second internship in life but because it was something related to my field of interest and studies. Yes! I’m a language student and I suppose this sentence itself suffice for why I was overwhelmed by seeing the acceptance mail. To all the language learners out there, this is an amazing platform to connect to likewise people and it’s an embodiment of knowledge. Knowledge can be theoretical but here we get a chance to meet people (of course virtually since it all happened during the pandemic period) who have practical knowledge and experience in the field of language and related areas.
I’ll start with the first session now which was an onboarding one. It held over zoom video call and at the same time, it was live at the Modlingua’s YouTube channel. The first onboarding session went quite well where we all were introduced to this platform by none other than our proficient and learned founder of this platform, Mr. Ravi Kumar. He is one of the most influential persons you will ever meet. He has the patience of a saint while explaining something. At the onboarding session itself, he explained everything with utmost determination and passion to all the summer interns. He briefed us on what this internship was all about and what it demanded from us. We were informed about all the minute details and that too with precision and live examples. The entire procedure of submitting an article online was explained diligently and in a manner that could be understood by anyone. We were given a live chat option to resolve our doubts and queries. This was something which I haven’t seen somewhere else. All the doubts were taken care of and it was like a one-on-one questioning session.
This onboarding session was really important because we were introduced to certain new and crucial terms which we need to hold on to for the future even. We came to know about essential tools used not only in the field of translation and interpretation but they are helpful almost everywhere. Mr. Ravi Kumar introduced us to Grammarly, an application that would be your best friend no matter from which field you hail. It is a one-stop application to resolve all your grammatical errors once you have something in the written format. Grammarly is a complete boon for every person. In a platform like Modlingua, it is highly necessary to produce quality content since it holds an international reputation. Our founder also introduced us to the Modlingua rubric which is by far, the most informative thing for interns like us. The first session itself was super knowledgeable hence, I was completely satisfied with my decision of doing this internship.
In the second session, more critical information was disseminated and essential doubts were resolved through live screen sharing. This went on for every session in the row. We came across several new terminologies such as meta description, keywords, etc. which I think most of us were unaware of. This is something which I felt was really important because we come across these basic things each day without even knowing their uses or the terms which are specified for them. There were a plethora of sessions throughout this summer internship. Each one was important altogether. When it comes to favorites, my personal favorite session was the one when there was a live session with Amity University Ranchi’s Vice-Chancellor who introduced us to pivotal AI tools and the importance of artificial intelligence in the language industry. For translation, interpretation, and other language field roles, one should be well acquainted with these tools since they turn the task easier in just one go. They help to bring quality to our work and improves it in an overall manner. This session was the inaugural one which surely pushed the language learners and practicians. This session motivated us all to learn more. Our honorable guest told us about the growing, new dimensions in the language career that have essentially added weightage to language learning. Some of these were research analysis, field analysis, army and intelligence, medicinal services, sports and recreation, language institutions set up under the new education policy, consultancy firms, psycholinguistics, and many others. All these have opened new gateways to language learners on an international basis. For me, this was an informative and helpful session.
After joining Modlingua, I came to know that it's not all about language and its applications. In the gatherings that we attended, we were given knowledge on all important subjects that were by all means, future-related. It was an overall growth and development of all the individuals who joined this summer internship because the topics that were covered and taken were wide and broad. They were not limited to just academics or any particular field. The topics were selected on different niches that we as freshers have no idea about. It was a complete grooming session in which we learned about the basics of the work environment, what all is needed and what are those things that you need to develop. Skills were given more emphasis rather than on being a bookworm. Modlingua’s virtual zoom meeting can teach you everything that isn’t given much importance in schools or colleges. Sessions like ANT theory: Importance of machines, customer management services, the growing importance of artificial intelligence, and others delivered abundant knowledge to us that I don’t think we could have gained going through the webpages on Google even.
After reading till here, one might think that this internship was all about sessions and zoom video calls. But there was more to it. We were assigned crucial assignments afterward that enabled us to write on our own and honestly, if those articles weren’t assigned to us, then I don’t think I could have ever known that I own this capability of writing articles. Earlier articles of 1000 words looked like a task to me but Modlingua made it easy for me. These assignments were a check on us, which I loved at times. Apart from this, we were assigned the work of making videos too to get rid of our fear of facing the crowd or a camera. These videos were given enough recognition by publishing them on Modlingua’s official YouTube channel which in turn inspired other individuals too. Apart from this, there was a storehouse of informative videos on the official YouTube channel too which anyone can access easily. These sessions were also made available online so that one doesn’t miss anything. This way we were able to gradually grow and prosper with knowledge. Next, Modlingua even provided us with the opportunity of being creative and designing virtual posters for the upcoming webinars which helped us to exploit our resources and brain cells a little more innovatively. But this is not the end! Modlingua is one of those platforms that focuses not only on the theoretical parts but allows you to showcase your skills and whatever you have learned throughout. We were provided with the golden opportunity to be the webinar presenters in front of prestigious guests like Dr. Amit Nagpal, President, Bloggers Alliance, and others. This gave us enough push to work better with each passing day. In live webinars, we were allowed to clear our doubts which for me, was a golden chance because that way you get authentic information from experienced people. You get clear on everything and you can plan your future goals accordingly.
This journey of a summer internship with Modlingua was definitely a super informative one which made me clear on a variety of aspects. It introduced me to innumerable new things which were completely different to me. It was like a necessary pre-dose of knowledge that you get before entering a new domain. I’m glad that I decided to join this internship because this changed my overall view on several subjects and gave me important insights into the working world. Modlingua pushed us on the social front too since it asked us to be active on platforms like LinkedIn and I’m grateful that I did that because this way I gathered new information about my field and even explored some new fields. I made few valuable connections and today I get updated on the new developments which is a boon for me. I would like to extend my gratitude to the whole team of Modlingua for providing me this wonderful opportunity.
