Translation is the conversion of text from one language to another, and interpretation is the discipline of translating spoken or signed language. As a bilingual person, one can find many job opportunities, but making the most of them needs networking.

In today's digital world, nearly everyone is connected to the internet for entertainment, education, research, and shopping. Social media has made networking easy and accessible to a huge audience, and it helps us find work more easily. Platforms such as Facebook give professionals a place to promote themselves. For a translator, a visible online presence opens the door to freelance opportunities: potential clients can find you, see your services, and get in touch directly.

A personal website or profile becomes the main tool for promoting translation services online. It is the benchmark of your marketing strategy, a place to connect with potential clients, receive their feedback, and present your work.

As translators, we should also understand the power of teamwork, unity, and collective effort towards a target. Surprisingly, we can learn networking and teamwork from ants. Ants are never intimidated by the size of the workload. They value teamwork and they are organized. In the same way, we should work in teams and keep an organized approach to work and problem solving.

As a language professional, I can leverage my strengths within Modlingua and its team because I am a team player and love to work in teams. Working together expands our knowledge, and at Modlingua every individual plays an important role in the betterment of the organization.
