Learning from ants' communication network which may be useful for the translator and the community are:

  1. Intimate sharing between fellow translators who exchanged their thoughts, sharing linguistic matters concered with information that can increase their abilities with the spirit of solidarity, sharing knowledge and experience from senior translator to their junior, or about obstacles that occours on any nation, until the translation world progressively advanced and rich. The end result is a local communitty or nation can connect and have a close relationship with the global world, which is an important point nowadays where sociopolitical conditions are easily undermined by fear of a foreign culture.
  2. If an ant communicates using half million cells continuously in its life, a nonstop information shared about food sources or circumstances around its nest so all colonies can survive and develop, it can be analogized to the role of translator as ant cells as a communication tools which connects all human beings in the world about various important subjects that support the survival of human life.
  3. Although an isolated ant can search for food by itself, but they will quieter when they work together. A study suggests ants will work more efficiently and use less oxygen when in groups. By running an optimum strategy, ants which only about 3 millimeters can be a deadly force for its predators that has size hundreds time of theirs. They help each other in foraging and keeping the nest. We as translators from around the world who gathered in a house called Modlingua, together we integrate our expertise to distribbute knowledge and beneficial good so that the earth becomes a more secure and peaceful planet.

Another thing that also is key point to the success of ants being one of the smallest insects who can survive for million years is a strong self-organizing spirit. Although ants are group animals that have close relationships, each of them will do their job without any command from the center nor the police who always monitor their work. This important spirit needs to be possessed by a translator at any level to maintain their integrity, how he/she continues to polish his/her linguistic abilities, considering of translators working system which have a high level of independency.

Be a part of the communications networks for Modlingua team which already has good name and reputation will expose me to the world's need for localizing the content of their products. It will training and sharpen my speed, accuracy, and continuity in translation process to keep pace with Modlingua’s credibility. As I mention above, as an intern, it also will automatically connect me to the masive sources of knowlege and experience from experts and peers.
