Yakshita Arora
My name is Yakshita ARORA and I am from Delhi. As of now, I am in the third year of my bachelors at my English major from Delhi University. I have already received a B2 certification in FRENCH from Alliance Française de Delhi as a foreign language which certifies a level of independent proficiency in the above-mentioned language in line with the global scale in the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR). And I am presently in the C1 level. I studied French for 5 years in school and have chosen it as a career now. I plan to do my masters in the same. Having a keen interest in literature and translation, I decided to take admission in St. Stephens College which is a renowned one for foreign language studies. Presently, I am awaiting my result of Advance Diploma in FRENCH.
I am a hardworking and dedicated student who likes to learn and explore new things and work with new people. I believe my varied experiences and the ability to work comfortably in a team and leading too are my biggest strength. I’m a teacher and had worked as a recruiter in the past. I teach English and French to children as a freelance tutor.
My interest in learning new languages and cultures is deep-rooted. I have always been an inquisitive learner and enthusiast when it comes to learning a new language. Learning a foreign language was the best decision of my life as it is altogether a new experience which helps us to explore its culture, gastronomy etc and I totally believe that language is the roadmap of a culture. To learn another language is much more than learning it. It’s completely a new perspective to think about the same things differently!
Career goals
Having learnt foreign languages, I aim to grow as a global personality for which I need to excel my translation and interpretation skills. Studying isn’t enough until one bags some work experience in the relevant field. This is why I want a concrete working experience in linguistics field to help my future plans. However, having a strong opinion on my aspirations, I certainly never want to limit myself to my career goals. Restraining myself on one definite ambition will constrain me for exploring other opportunities.
I believe that working in different fields gives me a boost and practical experiences that enhance my overall personality and psychological determination. I want to work in the corporate sector and being an intern at Modlingua will be very helpful to enhance my translation and interpretation skills which are required in the corporate sector. I am very curious by nature, I always want to improve and upgrade my skills by time. I am also planning to learn more foreign languages, travel different countries and learn about the cultures of different countries.
Since Modlingua’s internship provides a great opportunity which is specifically on the agenda of ‘teamwork’, my previous experience and capabilities will be polished and furthermore, a different and enriching learning process will make me go closer to my future aspirations.
If given an opportunity by Modlingua to be in their internship program, I assure in words and prone in action that I would definitely be an asset to your organization and would learn a great deal along with adding more feathers to my hat of knowledge.
A language learner is not conformed to their mother tongue and can expand their horizons through a cultural exchange of ideas and opinions. The above mentioned has been my inspiration to work as a Translator/ Interpreter in the future. By this internship, I wish to improve my profile as translator and language professional.
If given a chance to be part of Modlingua, I shall work in my fullest capacity and prove to be an asset to the company.
