Sakina Motorwala
Hi, I am Sakina Motorwala. I am a Business Administration graduate from Gujarat University, India. In the year 2010, I bought a variety of bracelets from my hometown in India and sold those bracelets to friends, family, neighbours and other people in my community. From 2011-2016, I have worked as a Kindergarten teacher. In May 2017, I got my very first assignment of simultaneous interpretation from Hindi to English. In June 2017, a member of my community trusted me and assigned me their legal document to be translated from Hindi to English. From 3rd April 2018, I am working on Clockwork Captions. I subtitle videos from Hindi to English and also from English to Hindi.
Career Goals
I am a graduate in Business Administration. But I have chosen the career as a freelance translator as it gives me freedom of time and flexibility to work from home and be able to take care of my children and maintain work-life balance. I had learned to read and write in Gujarati, English and Hindi while I was in school. This helps me to translate documents and subtitle videos from English to Hindi or Gujarati and vice versa. My goal is to become a professional translator and interpreter by getting certified. I want to learn all the important aspects of translation so that I can increase the quality of my work, speed in my ability to translate the content, earn the trust of the clients by providing grammatically correct translation and free from all the possible errors and grab more opportunities to work on technical fields. The field of translation has given me hope and confidence to trust my ability, to work and be independent and has saved me from being heart-broken every time on getting rejected just on the basis of being an Indian living in this foreign land on a dependent visa.
