Tavleen Kaur
Hello, my name is Tavleen Kaur, when it comes to narrating about myself, I consider myself as an ambitious, assertive and conscientious person. With my profound belief to help others and permeate the essence of kindness consequently transcends me towards growth, in a manner where growth proliferates for everyone rather constricting to oneself.
With my sincere intent to accomplish my desire, of learning new languages, after completion of Bachelors degree in BSc. Computer Science (2015) from Delhi University, I swiftly plunged myself for a Spanish Certificate Course from Acharya Narender Dev College (Delhi University) in the same year (2015) and completed with flying colours in 2016. Afterward, with the willingness to learn more, I enrolled myself in Embassy/Cultural Center Of Spain: Instituto Cervantes (Connaught place), there I have gained and upgraded my skills in Spanish language with enormous amount of valuable insights and later effectively completed consecutive levels (A1, B1, B2) in the same. Currently, I have completed my second year in B.A(H) in Spanish from Jawaharlal Nehru University with an ultimate aspiration to achieve DELE B1 and B2(which certifies the international level of Spanish studies) and do Masters in the same.
Apart from this, I carry teaching experience as a personal tutor of Spanish for school and university students which gradually helped me to sharpen my skills and gaining command over this language. Additionally, I had a privilege of volunteering NSS (National Service Scheme) in 2014, where the initiative was to generate awareness and clean the dirty areas among surroundings. Nonetheless, if given a window of opportunity to such causes in future, I would leave no stone unturned to serve in whatever way possible.
Lastly, I am a fervid language learner and strongly believe, being multilingual open every door along the way and an opportunity of Internship at Modlingua will help me to improve my abilities to understand the business dynamics and work culture environment better. Moreover, it will give me a chance to understand the meaning of translation from a new perspective and how it works in the corporate sector.
Career Goals
Since my childhood, my keenness to learn more and tenacity to never give up attitude made me more rounded as a person. With my introduction to foreign languages taught me perseverance and dedication. From the time I took Spanish as my graduation course and came to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), one of the highest-ranking universities in India, I not only assimilate the enormous amount of sense and passion for Spanish but also got the opportunity to learn about the culture, and other languages like German and Portuguese.
I have always been interested in various activities such as music, art, and travelling. In my leisure time, I love doing sketching and lately, I am able to sell a few of them, fortunately. Moreover, my intriguing nature forced me to step out of my comfort zone and pushed me to teach students which in result taught me to become more responsible and patient, and also developed my interest more towards Spanish. There are so many opportunities to explore for a language learner like one can expand their horizons through a cultural exchange of ideas and opinions. In addition, to pursue masters in Spanish and complete DELE levels are being the topmost and primary tasks on my long-term goals checklist.
Moving over to professionalism my dominant target is to achieve either the position of a translator for a multinational company or serve as a teacher. I would like to learn other languages also like Korean and Hebrew sometime in future and develop a similar bonding with them.
I am seeking for a summer internship program at Modlingua to comprehend and experience in the field of translation and interpretation. Furthermore, working as a translator and interpreter will definitely notch up my language skills to next level and broaden the opportunities.
