BRIEF PROFILE
My name is Rashika Gupta. I am currently pursuing my last semester in graduation from Delhi University in Humanities. My interest in music, art, culture fascinated me to learn a foreign language which is why I decided to study Spanish at Instituto Cervantes New Delhi while still studying in 10th grade. I am studying Spanish ever since 2015. I successfully completed the C1 level from Cervantes last year in November and I also have a B2 DELE certification in the Spanish language. My interest in learning new languages and new cultures also made me apply for the French language in college as a subject and thus I have gained a basic understanding of the same I also studied French at Alliance Francaise de Delhi for 1.5 years and completed my A2 level in french from there. In 2018 I joined ‘El Clavileno the theatre group of Instituto Cervantes. This is the only theatre group that performs theatre in Spanish and I am volunteering there as a theatre artist ever since. I also won the second position in the annual Christmas carol singing competition the same year. I have worked in three Spanish plays in different roles such as lead performer, script supervisor, and backstage management. Last year our group was invited to perform in the Almagro international festival, the most prestigious theatre festival in the whole world. I worked as a script supervisor for the same project. I am currently preparing for the DELE C1 exam and am looking forward to gaining some practical experience so that I can put the theoretical knowledge gained over the years to use and increase my learning. I have recently started an Instagram Page for the teaching of Spanish language online by the name of Rashika's Spanish Classroom. as my new venture
CAREER GOALS
I always wanted to learn a new language as I believe that doing so exposes a person to a completely different world of career opportunities and that person starts perceiving everything from a different perspective. I also believe when one speaks two different languages he or she belongs to two different worlds. My present goal is to intern with a translation firm as renowned as Modlingua because it is the only firm that provides freshers with a chance to learn different skills and gain experience under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Ravi Kumar Sir, it will be a dream come true. I wish to go abroad to pursue my master's in Translation and interpretation studies preferably from Madrid someday soon. My long term goal is to work as a translator and interpreter in the United Nations organization.
