BRIEF PROFILE
Bonjour! I’m Akriti Agarwal, a visionary and versatile Science background student from Meerut. Currently, I’m a 2nd-year student in the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies, the University of Delhi where I’m pursuing my graduation in the French language and literature i.e. BA French Honours. I’ve been studying this language since 6th standard in school and it’s been almost 9 years now. I've also studied the German language for 2 years, which my university offers as a Generic Elective subject. I have completed my A2 level of French at the Alliance Française de Delhi and am now studying at the B1 level. Besides that, I'm also enrolled in a Travel and Tourism Management certificate course at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, Delhi University.
I’ve always been a hard-working and motivated student who never compromises with her studies. I had always performed well in school and am trying to do the same in my graduation now. Apart from that, I've always been an active participant in extra-curricular activities including stage role plays, dance performances, singing, art competitions, skating, and rifle shooting. I’ve also earned many certificates and medals in national and international olympiads of Science, Maths, English, and even French. Not only that, but I have also attended several national and international conferences at the school level and been a part of the International Model United Nations online conference 11.0 once.
My punctuality and responsible nature have always highlighted me in my group. I was even entitled as ‘The most Obedient student of the year’ by the school teachers when I was in 6th standard. Talking about my hobbies, I have a keen interest in traveling, netsurfing, and cooking. I also like listening to music and learning foreign languages.
CAREER GOALS
Since my childhood, I had always thought of doing something different in life, pursuing a profession that would highlight me from the normal crowd. As a child, I had the ambition to travel abroad, get to know the people of different countries, and learn about their cultures. Getting the opportunity to learn the french language as an optional subject in school boosted my interest in foreign languages. Since French is regarded as the most beautiful language in this world, it has attracted me a lot. I even chose French as my 5th subject in the 10th and 12th boards because it is one of the most sought-after languages in the world and is highly beneficial in the travel and tourism industry globally, along with being the official working language of many international institutions. Hence, after my schooling, I decided to pursue my graduation in french and make a career in it.
My love for language learning sprung up when I got the opportunity to learn german as well in my graduation. Now that I have developed an interest in german, I wish to continue it after my graduation and attain at least intermediate level proficiency in it. Being a linguaphile, I’m highly fascinated by the Japanese language and its culture which would be my next target as a polyglot. Hence, at present, my short-term goal is to complete my graduation successfully first and then gain some experience by working in a Multinational Company [MNC] along with my language learning process.
