Brief Profile
My name is Aastha Bisht. I'm currently a third-year student pursuing an honors degree in the French language and literature at the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies, University of Delhi. I’ve completed my senior secondary in the humanities stream from Army Public School, Ranikhet. I chose the French language because it is quoted as “the most beautiful spoken language in the world” and learning a new language opens up new opportunities for an individual on an international platform. It helps in exploring new boundaries and thinking in different unconventional ways. France and the language French, have always fascinated me a lot so I decided to take this up as my majors in college. Besides, I've also got a penchant for novels and anthologies. I adore art, music, and culture a lot. I'm also into social work and working with NGOs. I've done an internship with the Let's Teach English organization where I’ve taught spoken English to a 9th class student from Mumbai via phone calls only. I've also done freelancing in the field of proofreading too. I'm optimistic and determined about my plans.
Career Goals
Goals are what give a direction and purpose to life. Talking about the same, in the short term, I'm currently thinking of preparing for the DELF B1 level from Alliance Francaise, New Delhi. I'll surely proceed in this language to make myself more fluent and smooth. I'll go for my master's in French translation and interpretation where I wish to learn everything from the scratch. Furthermore, I'll apply for some scholarships to continue my doctorate in the language from abroad. At the same time, I'll also try to be a part of some exchange programs and french workshops to refine my skills.
In the long run, I want to be proficient in translation and interpretation to work for various reputed international organizations and business firms. I’ll even go for the IELTS examination and learn a new European language too. I aspire to work with the UNICEF and run my own NGO for the most ignored section of the society so that every child can study and believe that there exists a beautiful world outside the shackles of poverty and break the walls of illiteracy to discover a whole new world. Besides, I have a strong urge to visit new places and write blogs and content too. I wish to do an advanced diploma in travel and tourism and learn content writing to facilitate the same. I'm aspiring to travel the whole world, learn new languages, and have a job that promotes all of this.
