Brief Profile
My name is Kanav Sodhi and I’m a 2nd-year student in the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies, University of Delhi. Currently, I am pursuing my honor’s degree in the French language. I studied French for 6 years in school and have chosen it as a career now. I also plan to do a master’s in the same. I did A2 level in French from Alliance Française de Delhi in 2017. I have taken the German language as my GE in college and I also did A1 level in German from Max Muller Bhavan, Delhi. I am a hardworking and dedicated person who is always curious to learn and explore new skills and work with people coming from different backgrounds. I possess great leadership skills and I always try to strive towards growth and productivity. I also have various other interests like playing tennis, badminton, and chess. I have represented my school in Chess and Badminton at the state level. Being a sportsman has inculcated many positive values in me like patience, persistence, consistency, accepting failures, and never giving up.
Career Goals
Throughout my high school years, I thought of pursuing some career related to Mathematics, Economics even psychology but the idea of pursuing French never came to my mind. It was after the 12th results when I was searching for colleges, I came across the website of the Department of Germanic and Romance studies. Just out of curiosity I searched the courses offered by the department and saw the undergraduate course for French there. Having studied French in school as well as at Alliance Française, I gave it a thought. I recalled how my teacher speaking in a French accent left me mesmerized and how reading novels of French authors and all the things about the city of Paris fascinated me. After contemplating over it for some time, I suddenly realized that French could be a very interesting career option. And here I am now in my 2nd year pursuing French honors with absolutely no regrets In these two years, French has made a huge impact on my life. I feel like learning a new language is like having a new and different perspective in life. My short-term goal is to complete my bachelor’s degree in French and pursue a master's in the same. And as of now, I don’t have any specific long-term plan but I am sure it will find me at the right time. If given an opportunity here in Modlingua, I assure you, I will leave no stones unturned and will prove to be a great asset for the company.
