Prasanna Deshpande
My name is Prasanna Deshpande and I am from Nasik, Maharashtra. I am pursuing B.A. (English) from Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University and I am in the final year of my graduation. I have been studying French for the last 2 years at Alliance Française de Bombay, Nasik center and I have completed my DELF B2 level in the French language. While learning French, I learned not only the language but also the French culture, civilization, history and cuisine.
As a language student, I have been developing and improving my speaking, listening, writing and reading skills as well as my English and French vocabulary. After my graduation, I am going to start learning the Spanish language in Pune. As I was studying French, I realized what I actually wanted to do in my life and I decided to work in the field of languages. I aspire to become a professional Translator/Interpreter in a highly reputed company. My dream is to learn as many languages as I can, that includes foreign as well as Indian languages.
As during this summer, I will have vacations, I would like to utilize this time for doing Internship at Modlingua. As a fresher, this internship will be a good opportunity for me to gain some professional knowledge about Translation and Interpretation. To achieve the goal of becoming a Translator, this internship will be very helpful. My areas of interest also include content writing, entrepreneurship and travel blogging.
Apart from education, I love to read books and novels. Also, I like to travel to discover the places that I have never seen before. My hobbies also include Trekking, playing Cricket and listening to music.
Career Goals
Setting career goals is a very important aspect of everyone’s life. It is because we need to know what we are trying to achieve before actually trying to achieve it. It is the first step to achieve our dreams by doing consistent hard work and then our imagination about the dreams will be converted into reality.
I have had a wide range of interests from Website Development to content writing and from Journalism to language learning. While doing a diploma in Mechanical Engineering, I had many difficulties understanding the technical terms and could not learn by heart and I realized that Engineering is not my cup of tea. At that time, I had no idea of what I wanted to do in my life. So, I thought about giving a shot to foreign language learning.
I took admission for the certificate course in French language in Pune University and after successfully passing the exam, as per my teacher’s advice, I went to Alliance Française de Bombay, Nasik center for advanced French learning. There, I developed my language skills and also passed the DELF exams. As a language lover, I aim to become a professional Translator/Interpreter in a highly reputed company.
At the moment, I am pursuing B.A. (English) and I am in the final year of my graduation. After my graduation, I am looking forward to working as a Translator in the translation firms to know how the translation field works. I am also planning to learn another foreign language to keep in touch with the language learning.
Apart from the language learning, I have some ideas of launching my own website which will contain the information about the major historical events and the people from different fields who have given their contribution to the world. To shape this idea, I wish to learn Website development and digital marketing. As I am passionate about starting my own business in the future, I want to pursue my Master’s in Business Management from a reputed university. With this degree, I will gain much-needed skills and knowledge for starting my enterprise.
Besides this, I am exceptionally impassioned about travelling and discovering new regions. I also have the yearning to do social work and help unfortunate people in the society.
