Palak
I am Palak. Pursuing BBA-LLB from Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad. As a law student of 1st year, my focus is on developing legal skills which do consist of legal language. The use of language is crucial to any legal system. Legal drafting is a very structured method of writing that can prove intimidating to the uninitiated, by the quality of language a person uses.
I’ve done legal drafting quite a number of times and wish to polish the same. And I truly believeModlingua would be the best place to enhance it, specifically the Legal translation hub. I look forward to the experience I would gain throughout the internship by getting trained in various aspects of online marketing, terminology management, content writing, report preparation and a lot of research. I like researching and would definitely work hard on it.
Apart from the above my interests are in gaining trivial knowledge as to try to be aware of various things, reading novels (no specific genre), playing (swimming, volleyball and badminton mainly) and discovering music.
Career Goals
I have chosen to pursue law as I want to be a lawyer, that is very well implied. A career as a lawyer is an extraordinary calling. However, becoming a lawyer is an enormous undertaking in terms of time commitment and financial investment. The decision to pursue a legal education has come after long personal deliberation. Since I have always had varied interest. The beauty of a law degree is that it opens the door for many paths. The chance to challenge myself and realize my full potential is the ultimate goal in attending law school.
You could choose to practice so many types of law or take your qualifications and never ever be seen in a courtroom. Many lawyers end up becoming professionals in other fields, such as working in policy in the department of state, entering the military, working in corporations etc.
And hence, talking about having set a specific career goal as a law student, I would say I don’t have a specific title or role selected for my 5/10-year plan. For me, pursuing a legal education is not a terminal accomplishment, nor will obtaining a legal degree quench this ongoing thirst for knowledge that I have always had.
While my primary goal is to become an established legal practitioner. I am committed to making the most of every opportunity to develop my legal skills to become an effective lawyer and valuable member of the community.
The experiences and knowledge that I will acquire throughout these five years of attending law school will stretch my mind to think in ways that I never have, allowing me to face future intellectual, professional, and academic goals with confidence and enthusiasm.
Though my interest as of now is slightly inclined towards litigation after participating and watching moot court competitions, the first question that arises again is “which field of litigation?”. This doesn’t have an answer currently as there is so much for me to know and discover.
Therefore, I want to keep my mindset and ideas open to gain knowledge and experiences from different fields relating to law. As the law is vast and has got the number of domains. Being a first-year law student I’m yet to figure out what I am best at and hence want to spend more time in researching and gaining experience.
