Paulomi Das

I am Paulomi Das currently studying BBA LLB at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad. Currently, I gave my 2nd-semester exams and for the summer vacations, I am interning under MODLINGUA. I completed my 12^th in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector-8, R.K.Puram New Delhi. I opted commerce i.e., Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy, English, mathematics, physical education in 12^th as my subject. I scored second highest marks in my class 12^th boards. 

The subjects in whom I have a keen interest are:

1. Accountancy-which I find very interesting and for interest in accountancy, the reason is my father is very well versed in the concepts and practice of accountancy.
2. Economics-  being a commerce student I know the importance of economics in every day to day life of a person.
3. Business studies- knowing about the market is always has been my interest. My interest towards marketing management took me toward BBA LLB.
4. Law of contracts, the law of torts, legal drafting

When you know many languages you can communicate to people more conveniently in their own comfort zone. The languages in which I have command are English, Hindi, German (from class 7^th to 10^th German was one of my subjects, and in the 2nd-year course I have opted for German as my subject) and Bengali (being my mother tongue). 

My hobby is to read novel and philosophical books. I am very good at drawing and painting, also active in sports activities, like to participate in various activities like debating, moot courts, parliamentary debate, attending workshops 

Career Goals

Benjamin Franklin says, “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn”. For me, I am driven by the philosophy that during the walkthrough of life, always we have something new to learn and we will.

After completing my Central Board of Secondary Education in Commerce during 2017, I have joined Symbiosis International University (SIU) to pursue BBA LLB (Five Year Integrated Course). At present, I am appearing for the Semester-II examination. I have chosen BBA LLB as my career option because I believe the combination of management and legal knowledge will be very useful to become a successful legal consultant/professional. After my Bachelor degree, I wish to pursue LLM from any one of the reputed National Law University and in the short run, I will prefer to join one of the top-ranked legal firms/ corporate/ educational institution, etc.

 By taking German as my subject in my 2^nd year law school, I want to further carry on this foreign language and get a degree in the language of German which would help me in pursuing international law, which is a good career option for a law student who is interested in pursuing, cooperate law in future. 

As we all are aware that the necessity of digital platform is increasing day-by-day in our daily life, which is simultaneously increasing the threat of losing our privacy/ personal information/ big data, etc. Whether the present national/ international legal recourse is sufficient to protect our interest?  Whether our present legal infrastructure is sound enough to deal with such issues with increasing trends of pending cases? In this backdrop, it is opined that there is a lot of scope for brainstorming/ research on the issues. I have been fortunate enough to be a student of judicial science and can be able to add value to the society at large in the long run.

Internship in Modlingua will give me vast knowledge as it is a leading organization related to language interpretation, command of language which will help me in the profession of law, Modlingua will play an important role in developing my communication skills. I have command of the languages like basic German, English, Hindi and Bengali. In my 2^nd year of the law profession, I have opted German as my subject. Modlingua will also help me develop my skills in marketing as I have pursued BBA LLB as my career which has a lot of impact in the marketing sector.

As Benjamin Franklin quoted “involve me and I learn” – I assure that I will learn and will be actively engaged in research, content writing and report preparation on business issues during my internship with you in may, 2018 to fulfil the organisational objectives as well as to develop myself to become competent with the dynamics of the changes under your guidance.
