Final Project Report
About the Program
Modlingua an ISO 9001 certified translation, training and language service delivery company based in New Delhi by the Director Mr. Ravi Kumar started the Summer Internship program, which consisted of three months duration from June 2018 till August 2018. It is an ongoing effort for the last 3 years by Mr. Ravi Kumar. The interns were actively engaged in research, content writing and report preparation on business issues such as Branding, Market Research, Marketing and Sales etc. An online platform Go to Meeting was set up to be directly in touch with Mr. Ravi Kumar, attend sessions of lectures on different topics and to resolve queries. We were provided technical support. Videos and were shared to have a better knowledge about subject matter. Guest lecture were shared with prominent personalities in their field. We received lectures on different topics, not only related to translation but the business aspect of it as well. A Facebook group and Whatsup group was created to be connected with everyone at all times. Subscription on You tube provided us with vital information via videos on relevant topics.
Based on the lectures, we were given certain assignments which we were to submit through online platform. Articles after approval by Mr. Ravi kumar were selected and published on the Modlingua website to showcase our activities. This was an opportunity for our own branding. We completed in total 8 assignments. Before each assignment we were given links for video to assist in our given tasks.
First assignment was to create my profile with photo explaining about my Brief Profile and Career Goals. Then it needed to be edited for grammatical, punctuation and syntax forming mistakes. We were also guided how to correct our mistakes.
In the second assignment, we had a choice of topics to choose from and I chose the topic -How Grammarly / ( any other AI tool that you use) helps you in improving the quality of content and how it reduces the time taken to carry out the editing work. I chose this topic as this was a new information for me and gained some insight about new techniques to minimize errors in translation.
Third topic for assignment was word to word Transcription in which I chose a video in Russian language on the topic “Success Mantra- How to do well in your career.”
Fourth assignment was to upload subtitle of the transcription of video on Youtube.
The topic of fifth assignment was Social Media Marketing with four topics and I chose the topic ‘Why Google Search and Top Ranking in Google search is important? How come translators or multilingual writers benefit from this phenomenon. Do you see some advantages for the language pairs you work in?’ I selected this topic as Google is global phenomenon and I wanted to explore its vast advantages.
Assignment six was Script Writing about any well know personality in the field of Translation, Interpretation, Content writing, editing, teaching or Literature. I chose a contemporary Russian writer Dina Rubina, whose work I have read. She has a strong personality and a vivid imagination. She depicts a visual of her thoughts and places on paper.
Assignment seven was about social or business entrepreneur, who has influenced you. I chose Mr. Lakshmi Mittal, the steel Magnate, who has made India proud with his global presence in the steel industry. From a humble beginning, he has risen to the top and constantly challenges himself.
Assignment eight is the final Project Report of our experience at Modlingua. What we did, what options we chose and how they helped us, the Pros and Cons of Internship. What would be the agenda in future.
Expectations
What drew me towards this program was that it was conducted by a professional, well known company. Also it was online and I did not have to attend any any classes. As I am working this was a huge advantage that my physical presence was not needed at a classroom. To avail the knowledge from experts not only in the field of Translation but also related fields which would be beneficial to everyone working in any field. It was something new that I tried and I am glad indeed that I did.
Personal Assessment
It was a wonderful experience for me as I managed to do new things which I never expected myself to do. I tested myself to learn many new subjects with professional help. The program helped me to deal better with the business, which is usually kept outside translation. I feel myself better equipped to deal with everything with the additional knowledge that I gained. It has certainly build more confidence in me. I was abroad for almost a month and requested Mr. Ravi Kumar to give me a little more time to complete my assignments, which he kindly accepted.
Learning Methodology
The learning was through different online portals, like GoToMeeting, You Tube, Whats up, Facebook, videos etc and Mr. Ravi Kumar gave full assistance through all these media, providing detailed information.
Result
It was a rewarding experience for me as I gained professional guidance through web. As I was working as well as abroad and even when I missed some things I was able to go back and check the material readily provided on Modlingua website, facebook, You tube etc. Hence ultimately I did not miss anything and I was able to learn at my own pace.

Conclusion
In the end, I would say that this Summer Internship Program is a wonderful way of gaining knowledge from experts in their field without any cost. In fact time to time there were some opportunities to earn through via some projects too where translation or interpretation services were needed. Through this Summer Program we can feel the omnipresence of translators all over the world and their work. After this program we can set new goals for ourself.
