Bilateral relations on rise between Czech republic and India.
Yesterday was yet another occasion to test my ability as an Interpreter when I interpreted for H. E. Tomáš Hüner, Hon'ble Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and Shri Anant G Geete Hon'ble Minister, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Govt of India.
In addition, I also had the opportunity to interpret for H. E. Milan Hovorka, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India; H. E. Miloslav Stašek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic; Mr. Richard Hlavatý, Senior Director General, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic; Mr. Boøivoj Mináø, Vice President, Czech Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Michal Kadera, Head of External Affairs, Skoda Auto.
The topics covered were bilateral relations, strengthening for friendship between the two nations, mutual cooperation, development of special economic zones in Bangalore and other parts of India and Skoda's desire to continue developing HEC plant in Ranchi.
Before going for the assignment, I did some ground work. I read history of diplomacy between India and Czech Republic and learnt that apart from the recent bollywood movie which was shoot in Prague, Indian and Czech maintain relations since ancient times. In modern times, the relations has been on rise since 1920's when Czech developed interests in India through developing Indology schools and later when SKODA and some of the leading automobile giants came to India for setting up their plants. Similarly Arcelor Mittal and TATA's presence from India in Czech republic add great deal of trade balance and flow of humans between the two countries.
My research on the diplomatic relations between India and Czech republic came handy, and I was able to interpret on above mentioned subject areas with an ease. I felt good to see smiles on the faces of delegation and our Minister Shiri Geete who highly appreciated my interpreting task.
