Brief Profile
With honors in English and a masters degree in French Language and literature, I have been teaching French language, literature, and translation at the University of Delhi since 2003 to intermediary and advanced levels and at Amity University to masters. Along with this, I have also been working as an independent translator and editor with publishing houses. I have also published a few academic papers in foreign and indian journals. A lot of my personal and professional life has been shaped by my séjours in France. Cultural and pedagogical exposure has been enriching and has given newer perspectives and ways of thought. Along with teaching, I am currently perusing my doctoral studies in translation studies exploring complexities of translating graphic novels treating historical events.
Career Goals
After teaching French language and literature for 12 + years, I am looking to develop a translator profile having done a few good translations and editing projects supported by the French embassy and the Delhi University. I also wish to use my language and research competences in the publication sector as subject matter expert. Not willing to leave teaching I am also volunteering as teacher and teacher monitor for a pilot project focusing on the teaching of French through Hindi in MCD school which we launched recently in east Delhi school.
