Brief Profile

I am Ashutosh Prateek, a student in the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies, University of Delhi. Currently, I am pursuing my bachelors in French language and would like to do a masters in the same. For the past two years, I’ve been teaching French to students of classes 9th and 10th. I’ve just completed my second year. I also know Portuguese which is an elective language that the university offers. I’ve also worked as a campus ambassador of a child rights organization in the university.

I am a hardworking and efficient student who believes in providing the best participation in the organization in an affirmative way. Moreover, being a language enthusiast, I like reading French history, literature, and culture. With the willingness of learning new and more and adaptability in working in a team, I think that I’ll be able to guarantee the best performance to the agency. As a language student, I’ve been constantly in the path of improving and developing my different competencies. Hence I believe that doing this internship in the summer will positively add another feather in my cap.

Career Goals

As a student, I’ve been always told to figure out what one aspires and to make a career out of it. Five years ago, when I was studying in class 10th, I was very much moved by this philosophy, furthermore, I set out to find what I really liked. Before entering university, I realized that my interest lies in foreign languages. The novelty and the unfamiliarity of a foreign language really interest me. Out of all the languages, French had an impact on me as it has a rich literature and a fluidity which makes it amiable.

Talking about my short-term goals, firstly I want to complete my bachelor’s degree successfully, plus I want to do a diploma course in Mass Communication. Then I want to pursue masters in the French language because of my keen interest in analyzing and studying different aspects of its history, philosophy, and literature. In addition, as I have experienced learning a foreign language, or studying any other language for that matter, it changes one's vision. It gives us the ability to visualize the society and the world in significantly different fashions.

According to me, it has always been difficult for anyone to decide their long-term career goals as the human mind is very fluctuational in nature. As for now, my long-term career goal is to be a professor of French language having specialization in translation and interpretation. Moreover, completing masters in the French language effectively and having a certain amount of international exposure will be very conducive in achieving my long-term career goal.

I think that a teacher can bring a great change in society by providing the right education to the students and aiding them to make the best decision and to follow a righteous path that they aspire. The students are the future of the country who strengthen its roots, therefore I believe that giving a structure to the future of a country is the best profession that one can do.

At last, I would like to precise on the fact that by working with an organization such as Modlingua, I will able to conquer my dreams and aspirations. This initial step would be one of the prominent and pertinent steps in building up my professional career.
