BRIEF PROFILE
My name is Vinayak, and I am currently in the last semester of my bachelor's course that is BA(Hons) Chinese. I have done my high school studies from an arts background along with economics and IP, my huge interests in history and politics made me choose this field. I am also keen on cultural and outdoor activities, I have represented my school many times in talent shows and dance and art competitions in which I even have acquired positions and awards. Furthermore, I have actively participated in IIMUN conferences as a delegate as well as an intern, I have also interned at a company with the social media marketing team in December 2020. Not only that, but I am very much keen on different ethnic dances and lifestyles, so I also helped choreograph traditional Chinese dance in our Chinese departments CHUNJIE festival (new year festivities) I was also fortunate enough to do this in front of Mrs. Sun mixing, education officer (Embassy of the people’s republic of China in India), I also begged the first prize in poster making competition held in the same.
Translation and interpretation are tools for me to better understand the culture, the country, and the people. I very much look forward to my time here in Modlingua. I know Modlingua will contribute hugely in shaping my persona and I hope to provide the best of my services to Modlingua as a summer intern.
CAREER GOALS
My interests and hobbies have changed their courses many times since my childhood. It happens so due to my variety of preferences, which made it hard for me to stick to a single one. Whilst it might make me look unstable or unethical, but it is the exact opposite, I found my interest in language learning because of the huge varieties that it has to offer, when I think that I have mastered a language, another pops up which spikes my interest more. These endless varieties not only give me a new perspective about the different ethnicities there are but also about the different kinds of people one is destined to meet in their lifetime. I have always been keen on stories and myths which spiked my interest in history and politics, subjects with stories, facts, and values, I also draw, paint, craft, photoshoot, model, dance, skate, yoga, considering all, I would say I also have a pretty active creative side, since taking all my hobbies and interests into account I did my higher studies from the arts stream. Listening to multilingual songs and then repeating them has created a foundation for most of the languages for me and all I needed was a space to furthermore enhance those skills, which my university helped me a lot, my course BA (Hons) the Chinese language was my first step towards my chosen diverse career. Till the end of July I will be a graduate with three years of wonderful experiences and everlasting memories, Amidst it, I found the nature of my study and research, culture, and all its aspects varying from traditional dances, cuisine, clothes, and even jokes. It is a different field than translation and transcription, yet it beautifies their work much further, the knowledge of culture and the customs is a must if you want to dive deep into their literature and scriptures. I look forward to diving deep into the subject of cultures and traditions through as much experience work I would find, and might also apply to do Master's in the same. My time here in Modlingua will be one of the many ladders that will shape me up for the upcoming future, all the experience that I would gain here would do wonders towards my personal growth.
I would love to travel to different countries to witness different ethnicities in their original form and learn as much as I can, and hopefully one day all these experiences and knowledge will be combined by me in a much artistic manner altogether.
