Brief profile
My name is Kanchan Bisht and currently, I am pursuing a Bachelor's in French and francophone studies from Doon University. I have completed my schooling at Shri Guru Nanak Public School, Dehradun. I have completed both my 10th and 12th from the science stream. When I was in school, I never really knew about language studies nor did my school offered an additional language as a subject. I got to know about this from a friend of mine and I was excited to try something new. So, when I started learning French and about French culture, it fascinated me. It has been almost 2 years of learning French and what a journey it has been. Learning a new language has helped me to boost my confidence level and my communications skills.
I have a diverse set of interests ranging from learning a new language, dancing, listening to music, exercising, pet care, and social work, etc. Right now, I am learning to be more disciplined and hardworking by executing my tasks in the best way possible. I always try to make sure that I can make others and myself satisfied with my work.
After having completed my B. A program I would like to pursue M.A in the same domain from France or any Francophone country so that I can enhance my skills.
I believe that Modlingua is the best platform for me to improve myself, my career opportunities, and gain new things.
CAREER GOALS
When I was a child, I was fascinated by the idea of having superpowers one day. I thought that the ability to do things no one else can do will enable me to fight crime. That was my idea of making a difference in the world. Now that I have grown up and found myself having to make important career decisions this idea seems unrealistic.
I have completed both my 10th and 12th with science as my main subject. I never really knew about learning a foreign language as a career option. I got to know about this from a friend of mine. I researched a lot about it and learned a lot about this subject. As no one from my family has tried something like this before, I was thrilled to try something different. So, I took admission at doon university and right now I am pursuing my graduation in French and Francophone studies. Learning French has been a rocky road for me. It requires a considerable amount of hard work, patience, and a great deal of self-motivation every day.
In my journey so far, I have decided on two career choices for me, the first one in the field of teaching and the second one is in the field of the travel sector. There are several reasons I chose these career paths. I choose to teach because I love children, being around them, finding ways to make educational programs interesting to them, and investing in their development are among my great passions. The reason to pick the travel sector is that I have always had a keen interest in travelling and there are so many diverse work areas where I can perform with my knowledge of the French language. I believe that all the time and hard work that I am putting in the language learning can be made worth it if I will work in either of these fields. Besides this, I also wish to start an animal shelter for injured and stray animals.
My long-term goal is to pursue a master's after having completed my bachelor's in the same domain from France or any Francophone country as it will enhance my communication skills in French.
As of right now, grabbing this internship at Modlingua is one of my short-term goals. Working with an organization like Modlingua will help me get a step closer to my goal. This internship would be my first experience working in the real world and I am sure that it will be a good opportunity for me to get familiar with other language experts and to showcase all that I have learned in the past years. I assure you that I will give my best in whatever work is assigned to me. I look forward to earning my first work experience at Modlingua.
