Brief Profile
Hi, I am Trisha Konar from Durgapur. I have done my schooling from Dav Model School, Durgapur with 94.4% aggregate in 12th class and 90% aggregate in 10th class. Currently, I am pursuing my bachelor's degree in BA French (Second year), from the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies, Arts Faculty, Delhi University. I’m at A2 level at Alliance Française de Delhi. I’ve also acquired basic knowledge in German too, which is an elective subject that my university offers.
My first encounter with french was as an optional subject in school and since then, over the years, I have been driven by my interest in the language, and today, I aspire to become a translator. I can speak English, Bengali, Hindi, French, and German which helps me sharpen my skills more and expand my knowledge day by day. My interest in learning new languages and cultures is deep-rooted. I’ve always had a strong inclination towards learning new languages and their respective cultures. I believe that language is the roadmap of a culture. It’s a completely new perspective to think about the same things differently!
I am a hard-working and self-motivated person and always willing to learn more. I always try to give the best of myself when assigned a task.
My other areas of interest are art, music, traveling, dance, languages, and social work. Having mentioned that, I have been actively engaged in social work with Aashman Foundation.
To polish the skills I look forward to being a part of Modlingua. If given an opportunity by Modlingua to be in their internship program, I assure in words and prone in action that I would be an asset to this organization and would learn a great deal along with gardening more feathers to my hat of knowledge.
Career goals
I believe taking up a foreign language has opened up new gateways for me to explore and helped me dream big. After completing my graduation, I am planning to do my master's in the same domain i.e french language or the field of linguistics and translation studies. After which I am aiming to gain work experience through the means of internships at translation companies or government and embassy-related institutions. Studying isn’t enough until one bags some work experience in the relevant field. This is why I want concrete working experience in the linguistics field to help my plans getting a job at the French Embassy has been my goal for the longest time.
Besides this, I have always had a desire to explore the world.
It will be a great opportunity for me to be an intern at Modlingua to gain experience in the professional world. This initial step would be one of the most prominent and pertinent steps in building up my professional career and I am ready to make the best of it.
