The Benefits of Grammarly:

Question: Through examples, explain how Grammarly/(any other AI tool that you use) helps you in improving the quality of content and how it reduces the time taken to carry out editing work.

Answer: 
Grammarly is an amazing online grammar checker that allows the user to submit content that is virtually error-free on a grammatical level and a contextual level. Grammarly can very easily be embedded in the user's Internet browser to ensure automatic correction of any text that the user is preparing. It helps correct hundreds of mistakes related to grammar, punctuation and spelling. As an added benefit, the tool can be used to improve vocabulary, as it will suggest ideas for the user to enhance their writing style and make texts more effective and engaging. 

As participants in this years Modlingua internship, we are expected to contribute our thoughts and ideas mainly through the submission of online assignments. Considering the fact that there are hundreds of interns in this program, there is a lot of editing that is required for each text before it can be published to the Modlingua website. By using AI tools such as Grammarly, we (interns) can take on the bulk of the editing process ourselves to ensure that the time it takes to carry out editing work by the Modlingua team decreases tenfold. As a result, we can also take ownership of our work and we can be confident in knowing that we have submitted an assignment that is up to the standards that are expected of us. Simple spelling and grammar mistakes are often overlooked, and it can be embarrassing to submit a text that is not up to par. For those of us who struggle with writing or communicating, are not native speakers of English, etc., Grammarly is an effective tool that can help ensure accuracy and credibility. Rather than having to manually comb through a text for errors, Grammarly cuts that editing time in half, as mistakes are very clearly highlighted and fixed with the click of a button. Of course, it is always important and recommended to revise a text even after the use of a tool such as Grammarly, but users can rely on such a tool to do the heavy editing for them, and rest assured that they are getting the best help possible.

By using Grammarly, I can personally attest to the quality of work I have been submitting recently. I have definitely gained more knowledge of English grammar, as I am more aware of the mistakes that I used to make and how they have affected the meaning of my texts. I have also noticed a significant decrease in the time taken to edit my work, as I no longer have to read the same text over and over again to catch all errors. Grammarly has pointed out simple spelling and grammar mistakes that I would have been quick to pass over and has also pointed out errors that I wasn't even aware of previously. Now, I am much more confident in the work that I submit. I no longer have any errors in my texts that would distract or detract from the points that I am trying to get across, and this is something I will be forever grateful for. In addition, I am sure that the people who read my work are also grateful that they do not have to spend as much time editing my work for clarity and accuracy. Grammarly has certainly made my colleagues and me more efficient individuals.

4. Why are quality standards important?

Working according to the Standard requirements and the Standard management system will provide the TSP (Translation Service Provider) with many benefits. It will give it a unique opportunity to position its services on the market and have them singled out against the competition with added selling points. It will also bring about greater organizational effectiveness; establish a continuous improvement process in TSP’s operations. For instance, tracking and compiling complaints and non-conformities (either internal or external) will induce corrective and preventive measures for a greater long-term effectiveness.

Therefore, the reason to meet the standards is none other than to place the focus on the client. It is obvious that providing quality specialised translations across different fields is a priority for reaching new clients and building loyalty with current ones. However, it is also true that the quality of the service sets us apart: listening to our clients, making their challenges our own, and delivering the best solution.

4.1 What is the importance of feedback mechanism in the quality control process?

The quality of translation service depends on customer satisfaction too, and as a result, it takes a proactive approach to both fix and prevent problems. Feedback from customers is paramount to the overall success of the organization. This is especially true in the translation industry where the development of good processes throughout a business are so important to succeed. While it is common to receive feedback from unhappy customers when the quality of the translation is not to their expectations, every aspect of doing business is an opportunity for customer feedback.

This strong adherence to quality assurance allows us to meet the needs of our customers and ensure high quality services. Then, the best way to ensure customer feedback that allows you to better your quality control is to ask for it. When you become proactive in making sure customers are satisfied with every aspect of doing business with your company, you gain valuable information that has the ability to change the face of your firm. Effective feedback is valuable information that will be used to make important decisions. Top performing companies are top performing companies because they consistently search for ways to make their best even better. Effective feedback has benefits for the giver, the receiver, and the wider organization because:

-  Feedback can motivate. By asking for feedback, it can actually motivate employees to perform better. Employees like to feel valued and appreciate being asked to provide feedback that can help formulate business decisions. And feedback from client, suppliers, vendors, and stakeholders can be used to motivate to build better working relations

-  Feedback can improve performance. Feedback is often mistaken for criticism. In fact, what is viewed as negative criticism is actually constructive criticism and is the best kind of feedback that can help to formulate better decisions to improve and increase performance?

-  Feedback is a tool for continued learning. Invest time in asking and learning about how others experience working with your organization. Continued feedback is important across the entire organization in order to remain aligned to goals, create strategies, develop products and services improvements, improve relationships, and much more. Continued learning is the key to improving.


4.2 Does Modlingua Rubric provide provision for any feedback?

This website definitely provides users with the chance to leave their feedback. 'Testimonials'  section which is regarded as a place where general conclusions after finishing the internship can be published. Besides, the program director created a Facebook group for the interns of this year promotion where we can share information, help each other and express our views regarding course contents. This is also a very efficient way to give constructive feedback.
