Project management is a concept created during the era of IT development and jobs based on these industries while out sourcing the jobs to countries like India and other Asian countries American and European countries from where these projects used to be deployed set some standards and instructions on how to handle, time to be taken, quality to be maintained and closing of the project. These used to be given as on board training to the employees hired for the job.
This created an organized and well deployed projects and an atmosphere where the client could rely on out sourcing. This raised a curtain for different platforms of outsourcing in which translation and interpretation dealing with various languages, cultures, traditions and understanding people belonging from different walks of life included. This unlike the olden days created jab opportunities to people who have a passion of learning different languages and indulge themselves in various cultures.
Translation today when compared with that of the previous times as developed itself into different paths like IT, stories, subtitling, mechanical, technical, medical, legal, literary etc which again divided itself into audio as well as video translations and interpretations. The requirement is growing once this world itself came as a global village the growth became unstoppable to meet all these one should train him/herself and be well equipped with the norms, techniques and working styles and other aspects of the industry this creates a perfect planning, implementation, execution of a project and leads to a profound management.
These also require not only to follow and understand the needs and instructions of the client but also to deliver on time and maintain the quality standards. The skill set of a translator or an interpreter is defined many a times on the count of his errors given as a feedback from the client and also the communication rapport maintained by him/her throughout execution of the project.
Thought, plan, idea, scheme, devise, contrive etc., name it as you wish this is the starting point of a project the ending is always error free, on time and as per the norms set by the client or the service provider according to the client’s wish-these are a must and followed by every translator or interpreter.
Speculation arising between client and the translator comes only when the client thinks that the end receiver is not satisfied with what he presented as a final document. The translator has to take care of the wording and other expressions in such a way that he/she needs to be in the shoes of the end receiver. This makes them to think like them and to be sure that the person or individual who actually doesn’t have any idea of what it means should be clear and perfect enough when reads in his/her own local language.
These are only a few points discussed here but when touched deep down into the subject it is a non-ending and ever learning processes both to the client, translator if included also to the service provider. The feedback play a vital role for the translator and they also determine whether to expect work from the same client in future also but this doesn’t mean that we need to accept each and every work from that client to excel oneself in this field people with these qualifications need to improve day by day and also need to try new platforms where they can learn and earn.
