I totally believe we as a multi-linguist can truly leave an impact in society as we are not only bridging a gap between two or more countries or states but we are offering ample amount of opportunities to know each other’s culture with a closer and deep perspective. That can be clear with the help of an example as communication is a great tool here to avoid all the barriers and problems so it has a major effect on society, health and economy as a whole. With the help of dialog, we can clear out pre-conceived notions and stereotypical thinking. Thereby, we promote tolerance towards new things and people. So as a person, we imbibe good qualities like patience, tolerance and critical thinking. I personally think that this truly is altogether a new wisdom as one introspects the situation from all the angles before jumping out to the conclusion. As a result, multi-linguist promote value creation in a society as these people encourage exchange of culture of two or more different countries results in vocational training, tourism or social initiative projects.  There is no denying in the fact that English is now a lingua franca language which is prevalent in all spheres of our life. But owing to an expertise in other languages, we promote regional languages and somehow the traditions, customs and culture of that particular language are being taken care of.

With that, I would also like to shed a light on a job of journalist. The task of citizen journalist is to collect information from different sources and research intensively about a particular issue. Along with this, they also need a specialisation in a particular field.  Same is the case with multi-linguist who possesses the specialisation of different languages. With this expertise, they can expose their knowledge to others and try to sensitize with their issues with much ease. One should not forget the fact that language is embedded in a particular culture which might have different connotations in different regions for ex- if we take the word Saree, it represents Indian culture and has its own set of vocabulary. It’s not merely a clothing draping oneself rather it’s a traditional form of clothing which exists since centuries. So I mean here that one cannot simply translate the words. Otherwise the essence of it can be lost in translation. So in order to retain that, we can stick to that particular word only.

In this globalised world, one can easily express their views or opinions thanks to Social media ex-creating a page or a group in Facebook, Twitter etc. This platform works wonder to advertise something. It can be a product, business or skill for that matter. As a consequence, we are empowering individuals to add their own contribution in their own way. Not forgetting, one can be criticised as well but I believe in sphere of learning, criticism will always be there but one needs to understand it it is constructive criticism or not as that will surely help you to see things from different outlook.

So, at the end multi-linguist helps in global understanding and relations among people from different backgrounds and areas.
