Nikhil Kansal

Pursuing B.A (H) Spanish from University of Delhi, Nikhil is an enthusiastic, innovative, creative and hardworking student with problem-solving and risk taking abilities.

He is a literature aficionado thus pursue graduation in Hispanic studies. He is also pursuing Diploma in Portuguese from the University of Delhi. Apart from studying languages, he possesses a deep knowledge of the history of Latin America and Spain.

Mr Kansal is also working on a translation of literary texts from Spanish to Hindi and vice versa. He looks forward to being a part of a reputed organization having a team of highly qualified professionals and utilize his skills and expertise for the growth of the firm.

Career Goals

I have always been told to figure out what you like to do and then make a career out of it. Three years ago, armed with this bit of philosophy, I set out to find out what I liked to do. Before entering college I realized that my interests lay in literature and thus in languages. In college, my courses in Spanish were the ones looked forward to the most, and my cultural projects and presentations were the most challenging and rewarding of all my undergraduate coursework. So, it is easy for me to decide to pursue a career in Spanish language and Translation when I'll graduate from college.

Throughout my high school years, I have had a yearning for Indian literature I have read numerous great works by famous Indian writers like Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Mahadevi Verma, Munshi Prem Chand, Jai Shankar Prasad and many others.

From the day I have started my graduation from Delhi University in B.A.(H)Spanish, every now and then I have been working on a translation of some famous gazals by Jagjit Singh from Hindi to Spanish and Odes of Pablo Neruda from Spanish to Hindi. In future, if I would ever get an opportunity to translate any famous work of Prem Chand to Spanish I'll be grateful.

I am also studying the Portuguese language from Delhi University from last 2 years along with my graduation in Spanish to have a better command over European culture and history. And as Spanish and Portuguese and two major languages of South America, I am looking forward to pursuing my Master's from a Latin American or European university in Hispanic studies.

Besides this, I am a poet. I have composed and published poems in Spanish and Hindi, on social media platforms which have been highly appreciated by community and faculty member, I have also composed a poem in honour of famous Cuban revolutionary Mr Fidel Castro, which was appreciated by Embassy of Cuba, New Delhi and presented to Mr Castro himself on his 90th birthday.
