Sonali Chandra

Hi, I am Sonali. I am a Bengali language expert and currently based in New Delhi.  I am an avid reader of books, novel, literature of Bengali language and I have also a deep interest in Bengali music. I love books, art and culture and completed a prestigious sixth-year diploma of Bengali music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. I have also contrasting interest and love for Mathematics and science. I am very passionate to learn new things particularly about new opportunities like content creation and content translation.

I am an introvert child and have a natural inclination towards language and culture. However, I always enjoyed the beauties of nature through experimentation of physics.  I have physics as specialization (Honours) at graduation level with chemistry and mathematics other major subjects. I have also completed DOEACC ‘A’ level course and have good skills of computer and its applications. Teaching particularly to children is another focus of my life and I believe that, through proper teaching to children, we can nurture the talents of future. I have also completed my B.Ed.  I have also qualified the CTET with high percentile marks.

I used to teach Mathematics at a Govt. aided school in New Delhi.

However, language and culture are always fascinating to me and I regularly write articles and poetry in leading magazines of Bengali language published from New Delhi.

Exploring the new path, ideas and new avenues of creativity always attracts me and therefore, ready to take-up translation and content-creation projects.

Career Goals

Since my school days, the Bengali language always attracts me and I started writing for school magazines.  I have also grown up in an environment with love for different languages as my father is an expert in three major foreign languages namely French, Spanish and German.  Though I have done my graduation in physics and a post-graduate diploma in computers, Bengali language, linguistics and literature is a source of inspiration.  I envisage that my  knowledge in science and  Information technology blended with language expertise place me in a unique position in taking up translation as a career option for me.

Translation and content creation, particularly in the scientific domain would be helpful to tap the immense potential of knowledge translation and spreading across the society.

To achieve, the goal, I am searching for the opportunities and Modlingua would provide me with the right platform to leapfrog to achieve success. This summer internship programme would definitely help me to venture into the world of translation and content creation.
