Mahtab Daneshnia

My name is Mahtab Daneshnia and, am currently working on my master thesis in Linguistics and Web Technology at Phillis University of Marburg, Germany. Before that, I completed my bachelor in English Translation and my first master in Translation Studies. I had the opportunity to teach English to adults for eight years in different language schools, and 3-4 years of working as a lecturer at several universities; meanwhile I have worked as a translator and interpreter for the business companies as well!

I received an email from Modlingua about the internship holding in June that was so appealing to me, particularly when I noticed my mother tongue was on the list. I am an Iranian female, and I speak Persian, besides that, I am a fluent speaker of English. As a student of language, I have always been very interested in learning several languages, so I took courses in French in 2013-2015. When I moved into Germany, I had to learn German to live a better life, so I learned German to B1 level, though, I need to improve it when I want to establish my life here forever.

Career Goals

Speaking different languages opens the new ways to know the people and their culture better, it is a key to communication whether on a personal level or on an online platform. The latter has recently attracted many researchers to observe the new medium of communication, internet, on what I am working my master thesis too.

I believe that the internship offered by Modlingua can enrich my language skills linguistically and extra linguistically in Social Media and Project Management areas.
