Brief Profile
My name is Shreya Rawat. After my schooling with the stream humanities from Holy Child Auxilium School, New Delhi. I’ve done a bachelor's and master's in Spanish and Latin American studies from Doon University. Learning about a whole new culture came like a big challenge to me, to which I retained an inquisitive frame of mind. Apart from culture, I was also able to learn about translation and linguistic studies. I have a great fascination with art. My hobby is creating sketches. A new language and culture have helped me to create so much until now by deconstructing the source works. I’ve always superintended and actively participated in screenplay writings, narration, the direction of theatre and also presented term papers on various occasions held in my college department. This has helped me in putting my strong attention to detail, strong skills in agility, as well as retaining leadership qualities, and possessing teamwork qualities too.
Career Goals
Experience is one language that will benefit the learning of other languages. I believe, thinking, learning, and language are interrelated, persistent, and recursive. As a child, I’ve always been interested in art. In the process of creating, I’ve always gained some knowledge from it. Moreover, it has helped me gain skills like perseverance, discipline, observation, competition, and most important all self-expression.
Language is art too. For communication one should retain the quality of self-expression. I believe, language should no more be a barrier and knowledge should be provided to all. My first step towards it was learning a foreign language. The five years of dedication towards a new language still feel less and the urge has only increased. The journey was not only knowing about a language but a culture.
With the extensive knowledge of Spanish and Latin American culture. I’ve studied different literary theories, translation theories, and Hispanic linguistics. As a part of my dissertation in Masters, I’ve worked on Argentina’s historical romantic novel Amalia and dealt with Psychoanalytic Theory and Gender Studies in it.
My current career objective is to be a part of an organization where my skills and abilities can be encouraged to grow into a better person both personally and professionally. My long term career objective is to follow my scholarly passion and earn a Professional doctoral degree so that I become an accepted and productive member of the research community.
By the new project opportunities, not only my experience will grow but my further understanding will develop. Every work I do or create with all my efforts will be a step towards the disintegration of the language hurdle.
Out of several reasons to join an internship at Modlingua, few salient points are, I’ll get well known with Social media marketing, Translation entrepreneurship, Marketing strategies, IT and computer-assisted translation tools, I’ll also be able to develop my skills to put my theoretical knowledge into practice and ultimately gain a productive experience.
