Brief Profile
I’m Prachi Kukreja, a 2nd-year student in the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies, University of Delhi. Currently, I’m pursuing my honors degree in the French language. I’ve been studying this language for 9 years now (at my school and also at Alliance Française de Delhi.) For the past two years, I’ve been serving myself as a French tutor to all the classes from 5th-10th. I’ve acquired basic knowledge about Portuguese too, which is an elective subject that my university offers.
I’ve always had a strong inclination towards learning new languages and their respective cultures. Balancing my studies along with my extra-curricular activities has been an aid at making me an all-rounder, adding another feather in my cap. Not only have I shown keen interest in participating in various French quizzes and competitions but also have actively taken part in several dance shows ( as a lead dancer) and played NBAs (basketball championships.) I’m a diligent student who possesses great leadership skills. My curiosity helps me to be a better learner at every stage of my life. With the willingness of lending ears to others and pushing myself and my teammates to work hard, I think I’ll be able to guarantee the best performance to this agency. Being a part of this organization will not only refine my linguistic skills but also help me in enhancing my experience.
Career Goals
“To learn a new language is to have one more window from which to look at the world.” Learning a new language is like having another vision in life. French has made the same impact on my life. The first time I heard my teacher talk in such an accent and diction, I was completely mesmerized. Throughout my high school years, I’ve displayed active participation in all the workshops, French Spell Bee quizzes, and Olympiads held at my school. In March 2016, I was selected for the French Exchange Program by The Heritage School, Rohini in association with the Prayatna Education Society and represented my country in France. That exchange program taught me how speaking another language could make you feel like home, anywhere in the world. It was a major confidence booster for me. In the years 2017 & 2018, since my school didn’t offer a foreign language in +2, I kept in touch with French by attending classes at Alliance Française de Delhi with my regular schooling. During my first year, I got an invitation from my school to deliver an opening speech (in French) for an event inviting French teachers from all over India.
My inquisitive nature makes me want to learn more about the language. Hence, my short-term goal is to pursue my Masters from one of the top Canadian Universities. Traveling across countries and learning about their customs and traditions has been one of the things that intrigue me the most. So, my long-term goal is to be a part of a travel and tourism company. Since I’ve been teaching students too, I keep being a lecturer as my second option. As an enthusiastic and hardworking student with great leadership skills, I possess a wide range of knowledge and competences that will allow me to contribute to the success of this internship. Having zeal, determination, and grit to face challenges, I’m sure if the opportunity given, I’ll be an indispensable asset to your organization.
